Coating System of Wind Blades
Gel coat is the ‘bullet-resistant vest’for the Wind blades to withstand the impact of outward object. It can improve the revolution speed of wind mills. It can fix up two sheets of the wind blade into one. Practice has proved that the flaws of Gel coat, such as peeling, pitting and pinhole porosity, appear earlier in severe desertification zone than those in coastal areas for one or two years. The aggravating speed is also very fast in severe desertification zone after the flaws existed. Therefore the choice of Gel coat is too important to to be neglected.
Mega WU 210 Polyurethane Gel Coat has very strong elasticity. The tensile strength is up to 280%. The elasticity modulus is more than 15Mpa. The mass loss during the wear-resistance test of GL standard is between 4 to 6mg. The adhesion to glass-lined steel is more than 6Mpa. The excellent mechanical property offer wind blades the outstanding anti-sandstorm capability.

Mega WU 210 is easy to apply. Smearing and rolling are both available. Airless spraying is highly recommended because it can not only provide beautiful paint film but also reduce the polishing procedure. There are no bubbles appearing on the surface of the gel coat during the application of RH100%. It can be polished and recoated within 3 to 5 when temperature come to zero. The productivity of wind blades can be enormously increased by applying Mega products.

Better protection tp Wind Towers: Polyurethane Zinc Rich Primer PN180


The traditional anticorrosion methods for steel are includeing electrogalvanizing, hot-dip zinc, arc-sprayed zinc, are-sprayed aluminum and epoxy zinc-rich paint.

PN180 approachs hot-dip zinc in the anticorrosion capability , because the zinc cotent of the dry film of PN180 is up to 96%

In comparison with hot-dip zinc, PN180 does not require the shot-blasting pretreatment, any special big equipments to apply and any special work field; It can be cut by power tools; It is easy to repair; It can be appied by brushs, rollers and airless sprayer, therefore, the cost of application can be enormously decreased.

In comparison with epoxy zinc-rich paint, PN180 has much longer service life; If exposing to the open air, it has much better weathering properties; it has much better impact-resistant properties; PN180 with 40um DFT has much stronger anticorrosion capability than the epoxy zinc-rich paint with 80um DFT, but the cost is lower.
